The Yuba College ADN program prepares students to licensure as a Registered Nurse, following successful completion of the national NCLEX examination. The program offers clinical experiences in a range of health care settings including acute care hospitals, extended care facilities, offices and clinics. Lectures are broadcast via interactive TV from Yuba College in Marysville to Woodland Community College and to the Lake County campus. Some classes are available online and many are web enhanced. Skills labs in Marysville and Woodland are also provided by part-time instructors Technology is integrated throughout the nursing program curriculum. Therefore, computer literacy is an essential competency of the nursing student as there is a degree of online instruction. Yuba College utilizes a multi-criteria screening process to score and rank program applicants according to a combination of their academic and personal achievements. A minimum score of 50 is required to be eligible for application to the program. Evaluations of eligible applications will take place from March through May and candidate selection for enrollment in the program will occur between May 1 and June 1. Applicants who were not among the top 70, or were found ineligible to apply for the program, will not be contacted regarding their application status. All students enrolled in nursing and allied health programs are subject to the district drug policy and procedure for background screening.
